Sanderson MacLeod is the only brush manufacturer that specializes solely in twisted wire brushes. For more than 50 years, we have been the source of twisted wire brushes for some of the largest companies in the world by providing exceptional quality products at manufacturer direct prices.
In 1958, with a small building, three employees and a few basic machines, Ken Sanderson and Bruce MacLeod founded Sanderson MacLeod, Inc. in Palmer, Massachusetts. Within a year, at the request of a Hollywood make-up artist, Sanderson MacLeod invented the first twisted wire mascara brush, which became an industry standard and was widely developed by major cosmetic companies.
Constant innovation and demand for Sanderson MacLeod twisted wire brushes led to further expansion. In the early 1960’s, Sanderson MacLeod, Inc. purchased Better Brushes. With our new capabilities, we began manufacturing twisted wire gun brushes and general purpose cleaning brushes for companies such as Smith and Wesson, Colt and American Home Products.
During the 1980’s and 1990’s, under the direction of owner and current CEO Eric Sanderson, we diversified further. Utilizing the latest automated equipment and working closely with key medical suppliers, we became an industry leader in the design and manufacture of medical brushes.
We employ approximately 100 people in our state-of-the-art, 137,000 square foot facility in Palmer, Massachusetts and utilize a modern, FDA compliant Quality Control Laboratory to ensure product quality.
